The New 2014!

That's another year gone, and a new one just begun! The year 2013 was a quick one, it mostly comprises of me working a lot so I could finally get my ass to England to visit my awesome in-laws whom I haven't seen for 2 years. Growing up is a strange experience, being adult is a strange experience. There are times when I wished I could be back in school fooling around in classes and slacking all the time till the exams were around the corner. There are times when I wish I could travel back in time and experience my youth again. To remember what it was like to be youngish, to have no responsibilities, to be absolutely reckless in making all the wrong decisions and get away with it. To be somewhat free.

I don't have a fantastic memory of my past, but I remember spending a lot of my youth playing video games on my dad's cool ass PC. It started I think when I was in my early primary school, my dad had bought us a new Play Station 1 console at '97. That was the first gaming console I ever had. We had tonnes of RPG games that were amazing, I just remember having this HUGE CD case that probably had over 50 different games inside, and the most famous ones were the Final Fantasy 7,8,9. Played all of them through, some I've played 5-6 times. Then I got a Nintendo Game Boy Colour (Pink) at '99, a portable hand held gaming console! Imagine bringing your entertainment everywhere! Got me through a lot of Chinese New Year visitations.

Then I got The Sims! I got incredibly addicted to it that I would simply spend all of my school holidays on it. I collected all the expansion pack, The Sims 2 '04 with all their expansions. I would also play a lot of the games my dad had like Fall Out, Fall Out 2, Baldurs Gate, DnD, Never winter night series, Mech Warrior, Stronghold etc. The biggest competitive online game I got hooked on was Guild Wars, it was the shit of MMORPG when I was 15. 

I had to cut down on video games when I started going to Poly because I was so packed with school work and crit I didn't have much time to enjoy The Sims 2 anymore. Then after Poly I had to work which also took up a massive chunk of my time. But I couldn't stop playing video games, I grew up playing video games. So gaming is a massive chunk of my life really I am still playing video games to this day. Gaming doesn't just become something kids could enjoy, but adults too. A form of escapism. I also watch other people play loads of games like Lets Play's by RoosterTeeth. Which are awesome by the way.
